Supergirl Coming to CBS TV as Series!

Comics, TV, Music, and Movies!

Supergirl_Trailer-600x313I recently saw the trailer for the upcoming “Supergirl” TV series that will premiere on CBS later this year. Even though there are things that the critics don’t like or aren’t sure about regarding this vision of Supergirl, I liked it.

The main reason I liked it is because it doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet there is some drama in the series, if we can judge by the six-minute trailer that debuted to the world earlier this month.

According to the trailer, it apparently takes a while for Supergirl to figure out her “mission,” but if implication means anything, she does get the hang of it. The actual summary of the show (from IMDb) reads as follows:

Twenty-four-year-old Kara Zor-El, cousin of Superman, who was taken in by the Danvers family when she was 12 after being sent away from Krypton, must learn to embrace her powers after…

Heliocentric Bullshit

It’s here – the sequel to the #1 New York Times bestseller and critically acclaimed BATMAN: EARTH ONE by the superstar creative team of writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank! But there are many more mysteries lurking within Gotham City, including the secret agenda of Harvey Dent and the bizarre creature prowling the sewers – Killer Croc!

This comic was a big surprise. Seriously, i finished it during a lunch break and desperately wanted to tell someone about my enthusiasm (i did not, nobody who would understand was there).
Bruce Wayne is…

Vampire Batman and the Ultimate End – Comics Cover Price

Nerdy, Inc.

By: Derek Ng

Let’s not beat around the bush, comics are getting expensive. With so many new issues, epic sagas, and never-ending disasters, my wallet can only take so much. Cover Price is a weekly comic review with the set budget of $15. I mostly pick my choices based on cover, price, and hype. Which company suckered me into buying their issues this week? Were the issues I picked up worth the $15 cut? Were the issues you picked up worth your money?

5/20/15 C.C.P. Reviews:

Convergence Swamp Thing #2 – $3.99

A-Force #1 – $3.99

Ultimate End #1 – $3.99

Star Wars #5 – $3.99

Convergence Swamp Thing #2

Writer: Len Wein | Artist: Kelley Jones

Convergence has been one of oddest comic events in recent years. What started as an interesting idea has produced extremely mixed results. The main Convergence story is unnecessary and just not that fun, while the tie-ins…

Review: Batman: Earth One, Vol. 2 by Geoff Johns, Gary Frank (Illustrator)

Shallow Readers

Batman: Earth One, Vol. 2 (Batman Earth One, #2)Batman: Earth One, Vol. 2 by Geoff Johns

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars

It’s been a few years since the first volume of Batman: Earth One came out, so I was pretty excited when I saw this sucker. Finally!

For those of you who don’t know, Earth One titles are re-imaginings of DC characters that do not take place in regular continuity. In other words, this is notour Batman. It’s just a neat way for writers to take iconic characters and their origin stories, and put a different spin on things.
Sometimes the stories are very cool…sometimes they suck.
My opinion? This one was awesome!
It’s not perfect, but I had a lot of fun reading it.

The main villain for volume two is the Riddler.
He’s riddling away while blowing up various locations. Not the best re-imagining I’ve ever seen, but Johns does a decent…
